Introduction

Hi everyone, My name is Kelsey Hutto and its totally fine if you mispronounce my last name, almost everyone I meet does. I am from this little bitty town in South Carolina right outside of Columbia called Camden. If you've ever been to the big horse race called the Carolina Cup, then you've been to my home town! I was born and raised there, to a huge family. I have 8 siblings, and I'm just about smack dab in the middle of all of them. Being apart of such a large family has made me in to the peculiar individual that I am today. I'd like to think that I am fun, outgoing, and intelligent, but most of all I KNOW that I a tom boy to my core ( I have 4 brothers and it shows). I am 23 years old, and feel more and more like an old lady every day. I didn't begin my journey as a college student here, I am a transfer student from Presbyterian College, where I played volleyball for 2 years. That being said  I am now a senior here at Upstate, who was silly enough to pursue two majors. The first of which is Psychology and the other is Biology. Its been a long and bumpy road but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I couldn't be happier. Hopefully my next chapter will be medical school and the ultimate goal is to end up as a Psychiatrist, fingers crossed.

Books are one of my absolute favorite things on the planet, along with good food, good sleep, and good laughs. When I was growing up books were my escape on bad days, and my happiness on good days. I firmly believe that books were the builder of the foundation of my imagination. As a kid I adored the Goosebumps books. Each of those books was a mystery, and I couldn't wait to finish the book to find out answers and get on to the next in the series. As I got older my obsession turned to the Twilight Saga and most of all the Harry Potter Series. Reading these books was almost like living in a different world with these fictional characters, I was so attached to some and their role in the books that when something would happen to them, I would freaking cry! These two series were so captivating to me, I would lose several hours at a time of my day reading them (not to mention I read each of these series at least 3 times). While these books were wonderful, as I got older my interests changed and I discovered books that were even more intellectually fulfilling. I had an English teacher in 12th grade, her name was Mrs. Janet Williams. Now when I tell you this lady was the first teacher that I had ever hated from the start, I would not be lying, but by the end of the semester I absolutely loved her. She helped be discover novels that I would have never even thought about picking up. One of my favorites to this day is Jane Eyre, I read it over the summer before that class, and I didn't really appreciate it, until she made us practically dissect and break down the whole novel. After I listened to her analyze it for hours, and delve into each detail of the story, I fell in love with each and every part of that book. I read it again after I graduated and it became my favorite book of all time.
